華郵（Washington Post）社論指出，美國總統歐巴馬提出的亞洲再平衡策略，未來幾個月將面臨來自中國大陸的試煉，中國國家主席習近平未遵守不將南海軍事化的承諾，歐巴馬政府如果無法阻止中方在黃岩島的行動，將重挫美國的區域影響力。
